Overview
Multi-generational farm raising bison, elk, yak, and Watusi cattle in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Dr. King's Farms is a multi-generational family farm that traces its roots to 1985, when it began as King's Farm in western Pennsylvania. Dr. Frank King later relocated to North Carolina and established the farm on farmland in Leicester, continuing his family's mission under the name Carolina Bison Farm. The farm is one of the largest bison ranches in the Southeastern region. Its flagship Carolina Bison brand offers bison cuts and ground meat to the public, grocery stores, and restaurants. The farm also raises elk, yak, Watusi cattle, and offers organic grass-fed beef. Learn more on their About Page.
Dr. King's Farms raises its bison naturally on top-quality native grasses and gives the herds access to pure mountain spring water. Animals are free-range and raised without added hormones, antibiotics, or stimulants. The herds are humanely harvested, and all bison products are 100% USDA inspected and certified 100% All Natural. The farm has also established long-term partnerships with additional bison breeders who follow the same high standards, with a shared commitment to sustainable land management.
