Overview
Regenerative beef, pasture-raised poultry, and orchard products from a family-owned ranch.
Iron Springs Ranch is a family-owned regenerative farm run by Troy and Claire Eckard, started in 2019. The ranch spans a home property and a neighboring parcel that includes a 400-acre conservation easement and over 5,000 acres of State Land Lease. We raise 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Angus and Angus Cross cattle, along with pasture-raised chickens and turkeys. Our orchards are in production, with fruit being developed into products for our Beef Club members and the Prescott Farmers Market. Beef is available by the cut or in bulk (quarter, half, or whole), and poultry sausages are made from whole muscle meat with no fillers or added fat. Soil health is the foundation of everything we do. We use holistic, regenerative methods including rotational and mob grazing, no-till farming, cover cropping, and overseeding to build soil structure without plowing or chemical inputs. Cattle are never grain-fed and never confined to feedlots; they graze on native grasses and perennial forage for their entire lives. Our chickens are raised outdoors 24/7 and rotated daily across fresh pasture; their feed is certified organic and GMO-free. Composting adds organic material back into the soil, and riparian buffers manage run-off while soil health develops. We conduct frequent soil testing to guide crop and cover rotations, keeping roots in the ground at all times to protect soil integrity.
