Johnston's Farm LLC is a grass-fed beef and pastured pork operation founded in October 2012 by Allen Johnston, a military pilot who returned to Bradenton after a two-year deployment in Afghanistan. The farm specializes in half and whole cow custom-cut orders as well as bulk pork. Cattle pastures are located in Suwannee County, Florida, with product pickup arranged at the Bradenton location. The farm has moved to Aberdeen Low Line Angus cattle, chosen for their grass-finishing qualities. Individual USDA-inspected cuts are also available alongside bulk orders. Cattle at Johnston's Farm are raised on a forage-only diet with no grain, no animal by-products, and no fermented forage. Cows rotate to a fresh pasture paddock every few days, following a management-intensive grazing model the farm describes as mimicking natural herbivore movement. Beef is grass-fed and finished. Pigs are ranged in wooded areas of the farm where they can root freely for acorns, roots, and bugs, and are also offered conventional feed and fruits and vegetables sourced from other local farms and markets. The farm operates on regenerative grazing principles aimed at building soil health and stimulating earthworm activity, modeled after Polyface Farm. The farm states a full transparency policy: no locked areas and the property is open to farm tours by appointment.
