Long Step Farm is a small, family-run certified organic farm growing diversified vegetables, herbs, and flowers on five acres in Frenchtown, Montana. Kitty and Nick started selling produce at farmers markets officially as Long Step in spring 2022. We offer a twenty-week CSA with weekly box pickup options, a market credit program for early-season supporters, and an online store for seasonal pre-orders. Find us at Missoula markets all summer long, including the Clark Fork River Market on Saturday mornings and the Missoula Farmers Market on Tuesday evenings. We also publish Long Step Chronicles, a semi-weekly farm newsletter with market updates and occasional recipes.
We are certified organic by the Montana Department of Agriculture and grow intensively in a permanent-bed, no-till system. No-till farming means we rely fully on hand tools and focus on soil health and ecological balance, planning for the long-term productivity and vitality of the land. We live on the same five acres as our farm, and experimentation and curiosity are central to how we approach growing. Our produce includes mixed vegetables, culinary herbs, flowers, and microgreens.
