Overview
USDA Certified Organic and biodynamic vegetable farm with a CSA, farm stand, and farmers market stalls.
Aspen Moon Farm started in 2009 on 2.5 acres in Longmont and has grown to roughly 90 acres, with approximately 20 acres in active production. We grow seasonal vegetables, organic flowers, berries, starter plants, and heritage grains. Get our produce through a CSA program serving Boulder County and Denver, a roadside farm stand at 7940 Hygiene Road (open seasonally), or stalls at the Boulder and Longmont Farmers Markets on Saturdays from April through November. Our CSA offers two share types: a customizable weekly box built around your preferences and a Farmers Choice box with seasonal produce at a discount. Optional add-ons include certified organic fruit, fresh flower bouquets, and limited-availability raspberries and eggs. The farm is led by owners Jason and Erin, managed by a crew, and home to free-ranging hens fed local organic feed.
Aspen Moon Farm is USDA Certified Organic and has practiced biodynamic agriculture since 2009. The farm is also certified by the Real Organic Project. On-farm fertility comes entirely from biodynamic compost, cover cropping, and crop rotation, with no off-farm synthetic inputs. All direct-seeding and transplanting is scheduled in correlation with a biodynamic planting calendar, which organizes crops into four categories: leaf, root, flower, and fruit. Biodynamic preparations are applied in the greenhouses, fields, and compost heaps. Many crops are hand-harvested. The farm keeps cows, free-ranging chickens fed only local organic feed, and beehives, all of which contribute to on-farm ecosystem balance. The organic flower crops are grown specifically to attract beneficial pollinators and insects to support crop production.
