Overview
Small-batch raw honey and family farm apiary in Bastrop County
Blinderhund Ranch is a honey bee and family farm started in September 2017 by Chris and Jennifer. The ranch takes its name from the family's beloved blind miniature dachshund, Ginger, giving it the 'Blind Dog' nickname. The apiary produces small-batch, raw wildflower and mesquite honey, with all hives located on the farm and throughout Bastrop County. Honey is available for local pickup in two sizes: 11 oz and 22 oz. Beyond honey, the ranch also raises Barbados Blackbelly Sheep and free-range chickens and ducks, offering eggs and yarn as well.
Blinderhund Ranch describes its approach as sustainable and ethical beekeeping, with the health and well-being of the bees as the priority. Honey is produced in small batches and sold raw, free from additives and processing. All hives are kept on the farm property and across Bastrop County. Eggs from the ranch's hens and ducks come from birds that are free-range and fed locally sourced, non-GMO, non-medicated, soy-free feed supplemented with organic vitamins and minerals.
