Family farm offering dairy goat herd shares, raw honey, Angus beef, and seasonal market produce on 20 acres of Post Oak Savannah.
Luminaria Acres is a 20-acre family farm on the Post Oak Savannah, purchased in 2020 by Katie and Randall Holt. We keep a small herd of Nubian, Alpine, and Nubian-Alpine cross dairy goats and offer fresh milk through a herd share program. Our apiary produces honey twice a year, with queens sourced from BeeWeaver Honey Farm. We also raise black and red Angus cows and heifers, with a cattle share program in development. Seasonal produce, herbs, and culinary flowers are grown for market and restaurant partners, and you can find us at the Smithville Farmers' Market on Sundays. Wholesale inquiries are welcome. Learn more on their About Page.
Randall and Katie implement regenerative growth practices across the farm. Dairy goats are fed high-quality alfalfa hay, with supplemental grain provided to milking does at milking time, and free-choice access to mineral supplements. The goats also forage on an additional 15 acres of land. We do not give our animals prophylactic antibiotics, growth hormones, or any artificial supplements. Honey bees are sustainably harvested twice a year, and Katie completed a 12-week beekeeper apprenticeship through Two Hives Honey. The farm makes monthly monetary contributions to the Tonkawa Tribal Government in Oklahoma and the Lipan Apache Tribe in McAllen, TX, in recognition of the land's Indigenous history.
