Desnudo Coffee was founded in Austin in 2022 by brothers Juan and Sergio Trujillo, who grew up in Huila, Colombia — a region known for its fertile volcanic soils and celebrated coffee varietals. The name 'Desnudo' means naked, reflecting their goal of presenting flavors and intentions in a natural, pure state. The East Austin location at 2505 Webberville Rd is open weekdays 7AM–2PM and weekends 7:30AM–2:30PM. In addition to the cafe, Desnudo offers roast-to-order bean subscriptions, micro-lot purchases, and a coffee education academy. Their rotating menu of micro-lots features distinct processing styles — washed, honey, natural, and anaerobic — each described by specific tasting notes.

Desnudo sources exclusively from small family-run farms in Colombia, cutting out all intermediaries so farmers receive a fair price — coffee farmers typically receive only 6–10% of global sales when working through standard supply chains. They work directly with named individual producers on long-term partnerships, providing education in specialty coffee production and supporting innovation in new processing methods. They promote sustainable practices and regenerative agriculture on the farms they partner with, including restoration of degraded lands and adoption of biological farming practices. Beans are roasted to order in Austin. Members receive access to farm-level updates, processing experiments, and farmer spotlights.
