A Certified Naturally Grown urban farm offering CSA produce shares, wholesale vegetables, and food-justice programs.
Poughkeepsie Farm Project began in 1999 on land leased from Vassar College, and has grown to a 12-acre farm where over 500 households receive weekly CSA shares. We harvest more than 180,000 pounds of produce per year and donate over 30,000 pounds of it to food-insecure neighbors. Our CSA runs 23 weeks from June through November, with full and half shares plus add-on options including fruit, berry, egg, cheese, and yogurt shares. Shareholders also enjoy pick-your-own berries, flowers, and herbs during the main season. In addition to our CSA, we sell wholesale produce and operate food-share programs that accept SNAP benefits and offer sponsored shares at deep discounts. We also train future farmers through an on-farm apprenticeship program and provide year-round education on healthy growing and eating. Learn more on their About Page.
Our farm is Certified Naturally Grown, a peer-review certification for farms using sustainable practices. We describe our stewardship as regenerative, aiming to honor the land and its ecosystems. We grow a wide variety of seasonal vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs across 12 acres at the Vassar Ecological Preserve in the city of Poughkeepsie. Our CSA pricing structure is designed to make our produce accessible to all income levels, including sliding-scale discounts, SNAP acceptance, payment plans, and fully sponsored shares for those who need them.
