Deli, Restaurant & Juice Shop
Open
Soup, smoothie, and sandwich deli serving handmade soups and superfood drinks.
The Soup Peddler started as a one-man bike-delivery soup operation run out of a Bouldin Creek home by founder David Ansel. It has since grown into six Austin locations while keeping the same focus on fresh, handmade food. The South Lamar location serves a rotating menu of handmade soups, with 50 varieties in rotation across vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Guests can also order superfood smoothies, fresh-pressed juices, golden mylk, nutritious salads, grilled sandwiches, and sweets. The Soup Flight lets you sample three 8-oz soups at once, a good way to explore the rotation. Plant-based and special-diet-friendly options are available throughout the menu. Learn more on their About Page.
The Soup Peddler makes its soups from scratch using house-made stocks, including a house chicken stock used as a base across multiple recipes. Soup ingredients are listed in full on the menu, and many soups are noted as dairy-free and gluten-free. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian soups are offered in the regular rotation.
