A burger restaurant serving grass-fed beef burgers, cheese steaks, Reubens, and hand-cut fries made from Texas pasture-raised beef.
Retail farm stand selling pasture-raised meats, eggs, raw milk, and local pantry goods from Central Texas farms.
Local Pastures is a retail farm stand run by the farmer-owners of Shirttail Creek Farm and Belle Vie Farm, operating out of a trailer on West Oltorf. The stand was created to give Austin shoppers a seven-days-a-week alternative to weekend farmers' markets, bringing the farm directly into the city. Eggs, chicken, and beef come from Shirttail Creek Farm, while Belle Vie supplies pork, duck, and chicken. The shelves also carry products from fellow local makers, including Barton Springs Mill flour, Gourmet Texas Pasta, Kettler Family Dairy products, coffee, and honey. Raw milk pre-orders from Kettler Dairy are available for pickup at the Oltorf location on Wednesdays. CSA shares from VRDNT Farm can also be picked up at the shop.
Local Pastures sources its meat and eggs directly from two partner farms: Shirttail Creek Farm and Belle Vie Farm. The business describes its farms as regenerative and raises animals on pasture. Beef is grass-finished. Pork, chicken, duck, and eggs are pasture-raised. The model is designed to cut out middlemen and shorten the supply chain between Central Texas farms and consumers.
